All right. He said, no, it had nothing to do with Esau turning out to be a bad man or anything like that. The children not yet being born, having done neither good nor evil, God made the choice already. And the choice was that. So that the election, the choosing might be of grace and not of works.
lest anybody should boast. God made it clear. I don’t want Ishmael.
I want Abraham’s child that depended on my promise. I didn’t want Esau.
I wanted to choose Jacob in the womb. Nobody could say what you just said. Well, the reason he rejected the Esau people is because they were wicked. No, no. He rejected the Esau people as the instrument of blessing. Before the children were born, having done neither good nor evil, that the purpose of God might stand not of works, but of him that calls.
He said, you know the problems says Paul to the Jews that he’s writing and arguing with. Do know what the problem is? You fellas believe in selection when it comes to Ishmael and Isaac. You believe in selection when it comes to Esau and Jacob.
But you don’t believe in election when it comes between Israelites and Israelites. And I’m telling you that God does. The chosen ones are not just physical Israelites. They are physical Israelites who have the faith of Abraham. He’d already said that, you understand, in chapter four, you might remember that.
But does it here again. What’s all this about then? What’s he saying? Jews that are not part of the Messiah and thus being blessed in the Messiah, they’re not real, true Jews. For the real Abrahamic child is one that has his skin and bone, but has his
faith. 9:6. They are not all Israel. They’re not all truly Israel. The word truly I’m adding. They are not all Israel which have descended from Israel. Jacob.
He says, I’m telling you and this is your own Bible.
You ought to think about this. This is your own Bible. I’m quoting your own scripture. Not only am I quoting your own scripture, I’m quoting scriptures that you agree with.
Why are the Ishmaelites the Arabs? Why are they not the chosen people?
Because God didn’t want them to be the chosen people. What does that mean? That God didn’t want to save them? No, no, no, no, no. Not at all.
