Paul’s Jealousy For His Jewish Brothers

For I speak to you, Gentiles, inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry. I preach to you, Gentiles. God loves you and wanted you in right from the beginning. Abraham’s seed would would bless all the nations. ⁓ I magnify my ministry. If by any means, listen to 14, if by any means I may provoke.

To jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them.

He said, you know, the more success I have with you Gentiles, the more I love it. Because you know what I want? I want my brothers in the flesh. I want my f Jewish family. I want my Israelite brothers and sisters to look at the blessings that are yours, the hope that is yours, the songs that are yours, the prayers that are yours.

The assurance and all of that that is yours, I want them to look at it and think we’re missing all that and get jealous that I might save some. He doesn’t believe that every Jew ever is going to be saved, but he wants to save as many as he can provoke to jealousy.

For if they’re being cast away, being cut off from the people, you remember the Deuteronomy eighteen text we talked about. For of their being cast away is the reconciling of the world. They’re being cast away. Why were they cast away? They rejected Jesus, they crucified Jesus, that meant they were cut off. But they were cut off from rejecting God and the Lord Jesus Christ. They were cast away and in the act.

Of being cast away, it opened the door. It ended the whole Jewish system. It ended the whole fleshly elect status. And that opened the door for a Gentile. Up to this point, the story has been: the elect are physical Jews. Now it’s no longer the truth that the elect are only physical Jews.

The door has now been opened to everyone being saved. You don’t have to be a Jew. Anybody can be saved. And so the door, access to God, peace with God in the Lord Jesus Christ, has been opened to the world. How how how’d that work? Well, when Jesus dies, he lives all of the his whole life under the sun.

And then he comes to the to the moment of the cross and they reject him.

That moment, the curtain in the temple, you remember, was torn from top to bottom. That was a sign, an indicator. And this was a high priest who was offering himself on the cross. The high priesthood of the physical political thing

that is Israel. It ended. The high priest, though that will socially and culturally and nationally continue, as far as God’s concern, there is a new high priest, Jesus Christ. He is of the tribe of Judah. That means there must be a change of priesthood. For the Jewish priesthood, you had to be

Of the family of Aaron, a Levite. Now that we know that a Judean of Judah, of the family of David, he’s the high priest, then that whole temple structure no longer means anything as far as access to God is concerned. Yeah.
